Neuroanatomy program now available on BEST

August 2, 2017

The BEST Network is excited to announce that BrainStorm is now available through BEST. BrainStorm is an interactive online program for learning Neuroanatomy. Developed by Dr Elizabeth Tancred, the program is used in neuroanatomy courses around the world. The comprehensive atlas of human neuroanatomical structures includes images of gross dissections, myelin stained cross-sections and MR images supported by diagrams and text screens.

BrainStorm is an excellent complementary resource to existing Neuroanatomy courses. It allows students to review structures and learn about their function or use the quiz mode to test knowledge on structure location.

To access BrainStorm, login with your BEST account, or register by clicking JOIN NOW in the top right hand corner of your screen. Follow the BrainStorm link in the EXPLORE tab to access the program.

BrainStorm is available at no cost to academics and students from BEST institutional members. Alternatively, membership for the use of BrainStorm only is available. This is to help cover the costs of the servers and maintenance of this fantastic resource. Contact us to arrange access for your students (support@best.edu.au).

BrainStorm is a Neuroanatomy atlas that allows you to view the structures of the brain as gross dissections, myelin-stained cross sections and radiology images. Review the role of each structure and test your knowledge of structure location with the quiz mode.
