In the Department of Physiology at the University of Melbourne, Jairus Bowne, Charles Sevigny and David Williams are using the Smart Sparrow platform to deliver content to their students. Jeremy Goh recently helped to get these tutorials integrated into the Learning Management System at the University of Melbourne.

Examples of the Physiology Departments’ tutorials include a tutorial on Excitation-Contraction Coupling, featuring dynamic videos with descriptive text explaining concepts relating to muscles and their excitation and contraction. The tutorial has questions built in to assess students learning, directing some students through alternative pathways in the tutorial where required, to remediate misconceptions.

The Microanatomy of a Muscle Cell tutorial is a learning resource that students can interact with, hovering over the features of a muscle cell to learn more about their role within the cell.
