BEST Community Summit 2015

July 17, 2015

The BEST Network is gearing up to host its first community summit, a chance to bring people involved in the network together to share ideas, meet others working in the same field and to learn about the new tools and resources that are available through BEST. We’re looking forward to this being an annual event – nothing beats the power of coming together!

Co-hosted by the University of Sydney’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education), Professor Pip Pattison, on Thursday 23 July, the summit will feature some of Australia’s top educational talent discussing how we can address the challenges ahead in higher education and how BEST is responding.

Professor Ian Jacobs, Vice Chancellor of UNSW Australia, has been invited to be the keynote speaker for the day. Professor Jacobs recently surveyed the use of educational technologies at his institution. He has released his vision for education at UNSW and will share his insight into the challenges, opportunities and implications of personalised education. Guest speakers and a panel discussion will follow, from key individuals involved in the creation of the BEST Network, from those who currently use BEST resources, and from those who are responsible for developing their institution’s plan for adopting educational technologies. These sessions will provide inspiration and a chance to see what’s changing in this space.

We are excited to release new functionality and resources on best.edu.au including:

  • A new way to find BEST members working in your field, enabling new partnerships and the ability to work with other community members to create resources.
  • An extension to the Slice annotation tool that will make collaboration easier than ever and make class activities more interactive.

We hope to see you there!
